Hello, folks,

Let me tell you about my recent adventure--

There is a new biodiesel plant starting up in Spanish fork, Utah:
_www.betterbiodiesel.com_ (http://www.betterbiodiesel.com/) On last Wednesday, a
tanker truck picked up 3,000 gallons there and left for Southern California. At
the same time, I filled up my 2003 Beetle.

The truck was headed for Marina del Rey, just South of Santa Monica. There
was a boat there that was low on fuel-- the "EarthRace." _www.earthrace.net_
(http://www.earthrace.net/) This super-high-tech boat is going around the
world, running on biodiesel, to promote use of renewable fuels.

I had been invited to visit the boat with my friends at the company. And, I
did. As I mentioned, I had filled my tank with the same biodiesel. On
Thursday morning, I left Pleasant Grove, headed for Southern California. I set
the cruise control at 60 mph and drove straight through except for a few
necessary stops.

Trip distance: 693 miles
Fuel used: 10.5 gallons..

I got 66 miles per gallon for the trip. (Hope you don't mind a little
bragging.)

Ernie Rogers
