[Biodiesel In Utah] working together

I am actually in complete support of this concept, entirely, but the
stipulation that I want is that "being a member" of the Co-op does not mean
that you have to participate in a more traditionally-cooperative way.. The
vast majority of members are people who don't have time to brew but want to
keep on using it and showing support for it, so they mostly buy it...
The big challenges, I think, are mostly financial and people working
together, and coming up with leadership to get it going. There is a member
in Park City (Bill Hartleib) who I will be meeting with later today who is a
strong proponent of this idea, so there is one person. Perhaps the person
who suggested the idea as #2? I think if we could take say 3 or 4 persons
in leadership positions, and start working on the idea of setting up a
location, figuring how much each person would have to put in, in
relationship to rent, cost of the equipment, cost/time of collecting grease.
We also have a few insurance agents who are members of the Coop who have
offered to at least persue the idea of insurance, both for the facility and
for necessary permits. Is anyone else interested in this idea?

I'm a new member as well. What you are proposing seems like a full Co-op. If
my read is right of what is posted on the Utahbiodiesel.org site, they don't
want to be a full co-op... yet.
Interesting comment by the guy on the KUER segment about transporting human
waste....Lets see, my 5th wheel trailer carries 47 gal. of the stuff all
over the place until I hit a dump station... and they're how many hundreds
of like rigs moving about daily in Utah? Seems a bit more risky than a
barrel of veggie oil.
It's also interesting that the guy from Renegade isn't smart enough to
figure out that if he gets paid to haul it away and can get paid again to
sell some to us... that's a pretty good business model. Yet he expends a
great deal of energy trying to stop those who are willing to pay him. Not
the sharpest pencil in the pack.
